Cheese gets a pretty bad rap these days. Full fat cheese is the friend in the group that everyone hates and yet still puts up with. What a terrible mountain to climb. Ounce for ounce the protein to fat ratio in soft cheese comes out ahead when compared to its hard cheese counter part. More mozzarella baby! The protein and fat is very satisfying and it helps you feel full for longer. Grab a wedge, slice or string of soft cheese next time you're trying to curb your hunger.

3) Olive Oil

We've had close family members swear by a diet in which they drank a 8 oz glass of olive oil everyday at 3 pm in order to curb the afternoon hungry. That might be a little extreme for most people but this wonderful oil is one of the best sources of monounsaturated fats. Fat is your friend and when derived from olives it's contains Vitamin E, just like our friend the almond. The fats in this oil also have properties to prevent muscle tissue breakdown, so at the end of a long day do your body a favor and drizzle some extra virgin oil on your salad or fresh protein source.
