First Draught-A look at Spring Beers

The winter is finally leaving us behind and spring is slowly replacing it.  My favorite thing about the changing seasons is the beers that accompany it.  I like to usher in the warming weather with crisp, fresh flavors.  Waking up the taste buds is a good way to remind the body that the world is blossoming again.

As the temperature begins to rise, brewers reach for some ingredients that are typical in the spring. Wheat and rye won’t be hard to find in those brews available March through May.  If hops are not your cup of tea wheat beers typically have a low bitterness rating (IBUs).  Wheat beers usually carry notes of fruit and are certainly easy to drink.   On the other side of the coin, those beers brewed with rye can tinkle your taste buds with a bit of spicy flavor.

Make sure you get out there and try the latest release from your favorite or local brewery.  To help guide your pursuit of brew-fection here are some recommendations for a brewery near you.
